4 paramilitary guards killed, 20 injured including 18 policemen; many are in critical condition

Four paramilitary guards were killed in a fidayeen attack in Pakistan’s Balochistan on Sunday. 20 people were also injured in the attack on the Frontier Corps checkpost on Mastung Road in Quetta. Among the injured are 18 security personnel. Police said that the injured have been taken to Sheikh Zaid Hospital. Many of them are in serious condition. Police and rescue teams have reached the spot. Nearby places are being searched.

Terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack. On Saturday, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid had said that the TTP issue is something which should be resolved by the Imran Khan government, not Afghanistan.

Media reports said that 5 kg of explosives was suspected to be used in the blast, according to media reports that the attack was aimed at the vehicle of Frontier Corps, which was patrolling in the area. The DIG was quoted as saying that 5 kg of explosives were used in the blast.
