Biden’s accountability will be fixed on chaotic return from Afghanistan, many decisions he took late

The US Parliament will investigate the controversial decision to withdraw US forces from Afghanistan. In this, the accountability of President Joe Biden will be fixed. According to reports, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are preparing to investigate the chaotic return. Presidential aides and the Democratic Party will also evaluate the impact of the August deadly events on Biden’s political future.

Biden is accused of early evacuation of Afghanistan’s main Bagram airport. Also, he made a late decision to evacuate American civilians and allies and deploy more troops for security. According to experts, even Biden government officials now admit that the army’s covert withdrawal from Bagram raised the Taliban’s spirits and demoralized the Afghan army.

It is believed that after several decisions in the last six months, a situation of return has arisen in a hurry. Former President Trump had signed an agreement with the Taliban in February 2020 for the withdrawal of American troops and the release of thousands of Taliban prisoners on May 1, 2021. In April, Biden had set an August 31 deadline for the withdrawal of US forces.

There were differences of advisers on the withdrawal of troops
, according to two high officials of the Biden government, high advisers to the president differed over the withdrawal of troops. At an important meeting, it was discussed whether to stick to Trump’s agreement. Ask the Taliban to extend the date to May 1 or allow the forces to remain stationed indefinitely. The meeting was attended by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Millie and Biden’s High National Security Adviser.

Milli, who has been posted to Afghanistan three times, said maintaining the current army presence was necessary to prevent anarchy in the country. Nevertheless, at a crucial meeting of the National Security Council in mid-April, Biden made the official decision to withdraw the army.

Biden can take tough decisions

Now the Biden government can take some tough decisions. Biden will have to hunt down Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) terrorists. The US will have to rely on the Taliban to evacuate between 100 and 200 Americans and thousands of people from allies in Afghanistan.
