US President Joe Biden signs an executive order releasing investigative documents related to the 9/11 attacks. Biden promised the victims’ families that some documents related to the investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) would be released after the attacks. This promise was repeated several times by Biden during his election rallies in November.
Orders to the Justice Department In an order
issued by Biden on Friday, the Justice Department has been asked to revisit the declassified documents so that they can be released. Now Attorney General Maric Garland will look at these documents and then they will be released in 6 months. Biden said- ‘What I promised. I am taking a step towards accomplishing that. September 11 will complete 20 years of these attacks. Only after 20 years, US troops have come back from Afghanistan.
Documents will be important In
these documents some information related to the conspiracy of 9/11 attacks will be found, apart from this it can also be known that what preparations have been made by America to avoid such attacks in future. The order clearly states that those documents cannot be issued, which endanger the security of the country. That’s why the Justice Department will look at them first.
Biden was also under pressure to release these documents. A few days ago, the families of 9/11 victims wrote a letter to the White House saying that Biden would not be welcomed at the 9/11 Memorial if these documents were not released. More than 3 thousand people were killed in these attacks.
